As a scientist, I blog on this subject often. The most common analogy I use is that "the carbon dioxide content of the troposphere is 390 ppm (or 0.039%), and if the atmospheric components were reduced to 10,000 pennies ($100), carbon dioxide would be 4 of those pennies. 200 years ago, it was 3 out of 10,000.
Climate variation took place long before we were ever here. And because of that background of variation, it is difficult to assess what effect we may have, is it 1%, 5%, 10%?
Anyway, I am still in my blogging rookie season, so I haven't completely figured out the Trackback thing. Please forgive.
